 KUMARAGUPTA

SON        OF     Chandragupta II ♥ Dhurvadevi

REIGN      _       415 CE - 455 CE

TITLES     #       Chakradhithya

"Kumaragupta" was one of the great Emperor of gupta dynasty, who was succeeded the throne after Chandragupta II. He reigned a inherited large empire, which was conquered by his predecessors. There is no concrete information on his conquests. But, he may faced some battles with Pushyamitras and Huns, who were continously invaded during gupta's reign. From his coins and inscriptions, which was founded in some places other than his inherited territory, we may consider that Kumaragupta conquered the South western parts near Maharastra and his coins also discovered in South Gujarat, which was reigned by Traikutaka dynasty. This leads to a consideration that Kumaragupta conquered South Gujarat, by defeating Traikutakas.

Kumaragupta was considered to be the last great emperor of gupta dynasty.
