PREAMBLE OF THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION

 The Preamble of the Constitution is like a preface to the book of Indian constitution. It was introduced by Jawaharlal Nehru in objective resolution bill on December 13 1946 and the bill was passed (i.e.) agreed, on 22nd January 1947. The complete Indian Constitution was adopted on 26, November 1949. A Preamble to the constitution was firstly introduced by Americans and followed by other countries like India. 

TEXT OF THE PREAMBLE:

"We, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:

JUSTICE, Social, Economic and political;

LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; 

EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all;

FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and Integrity of the Nation;

IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSMEBLY this twenty sixth day of November 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION".

 OBJECTIVES : 

  • Justice
  • Liberty
  • Equality 
  • Fraternity
These were considered to be the main objectives in the preamble of the Indian Constitution that should be provided and followed by all the Indian Citizens.
